Mr Neil Rose (Chairman & founder member)
"I have been involved in Engineering all my working life, for the last 20 years, I have run my own organisations, specializing in domestic and light commercial heating, both on the tools and providing training. During its lifetime I served on the OFTEC Registered Technicians Committee a member and latterly as its democratically elected Chairman, both of which were voluntary, as all the other hard working members of that committee, I gave up a number of my working days, to represent the interests of Technicians to the Operators of the Competent Persons Schemes."

"I have a diverse background and experience with Competence person Schemes, I had been the OFTEC Registration Services Director (August 2007 to July 2008) this position was the head of the OFTEC Registration Services team, (which consisted of the Registration Services Manager, compliance officer, training and development officer and four members of the administration, Inspections/complaints Manager and a team of eight Regional Inspectors) I attended the Competent Person Scheme Providers Forum (CPF) and various Communities and Local Government (CLG) working groups. Prior to that, when I was OFTEC Registration Services Manager (Aug 2002 - Aug 2004) duties included the following:- Manage the Field Inspectorate team and complaints, the unfortunate task of Suspending or withdrawing of Registrations. Training centre approval/re-approval and centre audits, Deliver presentations at Road shows throughout England/Wales/Northern Ireland/Republic of Ireland/Scotland/Channel Isles/Isle of Man, Create new contacts and establish good working relationships with other organisations, Liaise with Government officials for England/Wales/Northern Ireland/Republic of Ireland/Scotland/Channel Isles/Isle of Man, Developing new courses and qualifications inline with industry and legislative requirements (i.e. competent Persons Scheme England and Wales), Maintaining existing qualifications and developing training solutions to meet industry needs, liaise with UKAS and EN 45013/ISO 17024 UKAS Accredited Certification Bodies. Developing and promoting NVQ's including Technical Certificate (VRQ) and Oil Fired Modern Apprenticeship with City and Guilds and COGENT SSC.”
